EDITORS COMMENTS
Aviation pioneer Sir Alan Cobham stands proudly in front of his trusty de Havilland DH.60 Moth biplane, G-EBKT, on a sunny day in 1925. This iconic aircraft played a significant role in Cobham's illustrious career, with the prototype making history by flying from Croydon to Zurich and back in an impressive 14 hours and 49 minutes on May 29th of that year. The Moth also saw action in the Kings Cup Air Race, where Cobham placed second despite challenging weather conditions forcing him to land short of the finish line. With its lightweight design and powerful Cirrus engine, this two-seat touring and training biplane was an ideal machine for both recreational flying and competitive racing.
